I didn’t imagine I would be using this blog for anything that was not light hearted, but this is a worthy exception. Most of you reading this are aware of just how heavy the atmosphere has been this week in Moncton. Thank you to all the first responders who have worked tirelessly this week, to all the visiting RCMP and dignitaries for your support and to you, Moncton, for standing up tall and rising to face a challenge. I wish a speedy recovery to our injured officers and send my deepest condolences to the friends and family of the three men we lost. Sometimes, words are not enough to describe the emotion that can overcome you during a difficult time, so I’m going to speak, as I often do, through my photos.
Heidi, amazing.
Great photos. Love the perspective you used.
you tell an excellent store of loss and respect for everyone to see
Thank you for sharing the photos. I am originally from Moncton and moved to Ottawa two years ago, leaving all of my friends and family behind.. When I first heard of this, how it was happening in the neighbourhood my family lives in and I grew up in.. I felt so useless, so far away. I along with most of Canada stayed glued to the TV yesterday all day to watch the ceremony and mourned the loss of our heroes.
Moncton is a city unlike any other, the strength, the power and the passion that city has will get through just about anything, I just never thought this would be something we would need to see and live through.
I hope you are grieving the loss of our fallen officers at your own pace. Again, thank you so much for posting the beautiful photos, makes me feel like I am home.
